  • 23 October 2012 At the Open Group conference in Barcelona, QLM is declared a product information communication standard of The Open Group.

    Subscription to the standardisation work-group by more than 20 major corporations provides industry with a number of important assurances and widespread adoption of QLM, providing deep knowledge of products in the field and informed business decisions.


  • 5 January 2011 David Potter named Chair, and Dimitris Kiritsis Vice-Chair, of The Open Group's QLM Work Group.

    Promise Innovation's Chief Technical Officer, David Potter, has been named Chair of The Open Group's QLM Work Group. At the same time, Dimitris Kiritsis, Director of Research and Academic Affairs at Promise Innovation, was named Vice-Chair. Together with a motivated group of members from a wide range of companies and organisation's, Promise Innovation is well-placed both to influence and to derive early benefit from the work of the group.


  • 4 October 2010 The Open Group announces the formation of its Quantum Lifecycle Management (QLM) Work Group.

    Quantum Lifecycle Management (QLM) standards will support the natural progression and extension of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Their scope greatly exceeds product lifecycle management, exploiting common information exchange technologies to embrace other lifecycles including healthcare, supply chain and logistics, food, beverage, pharmaceutical pedigree and traceability, among many others. The quantum leap implied in the name is relevant because of the effect of harnessing the technologies and direction of the “Internet of Things”, embracing the trillions of additional entities that will be introduced to the challenge of lifecycle management. The QLM Work Group provides the forum to develop and consolidate the open standards necessary to address these advances.


  • 27 March 2009: Promise Innovation announces collaboration with The Open Group with a special event PROMISE at The Open Group London Conference 29th April 2009.

    The concepts of “Item Attendant ICT” and “the Internet of Things” are a reality, allowing items to be networked and able to communicate information about themselves to other items and computer systems on a global and commercial scale. Open architecture extensions and standards will be required in order to provide a secure and flexible infrastructure for their information exchange. “The Internet of Things” will affect your business.   • 1 December 2008: Promise Innovation launches Beta- 'THE information exchange for closed loop lifecycle management' is THE focal point for any person interested in lifecycle information exchange. It offers collaborative tools such as forums, blogs and a wiki.  From January 2009 technology and service providers will able to introduce their companies at no cost and participate in building the international community. A calendar allows you to propose and find events well in advance for planning purposes.
  • 2 July 2008PROMISE demonstrated successfully in Athens

    10 different applications of Closed Loop Lifecycle Management were successfully demonstrated in Athens at a public event jointly hosted by INTRACOM and Promise Innovation to mark the end of the 42 month PROMISE Project..

    The 14.2 Million Euro investment was heralded as an example of successful investment strategy by the EU Project Officer Arian Zwegers.
